Course Description

Today's successful project manager has to identify the proper project management methodology to use for each project and the associated project management processes required to successfully deliver project objectives.

This course provides participants with an intensive view of the current best practice tools and techniques that are used across a broad spectrum of project processes. Participants will gain an understanding of which tools and techniques are available and should be applied for traditional plan driven projects and projects using agile methodologies.

Course Outline

At the end of this course a student should be able to: 

  1. Document user’s needs as part of project scope  

  2. Develop a project schedule  

  3. Analyze and improve an organization’s strategy  

  4. Align a portfolio to an organization’s strategy 

  5. Use estimating techniques to build a project scope, schedule and budget 

  6. Use project management techniques to manage the execution of a project 

  7. Apply systems thinking to solve complex problems
