Did you know that only nine of our states require a single year of U.S. government or civics lessons in school? Here at Georgetown, we recognize that America’s younger generations serve as a strong catalyst for change. That’s why we have Civics Unplugged, a three-day conference designed to equip you with not only a foundational civics education but also the skills, knowledge, and disposition required to become an informed and engaged citizen.
Join us for an experiential three days in the nation’s capital, where you’ll have opportunities to meet with elected officials on Capitol Hill, explore your surroundings through tours of the city, hear from daily keynote speakers, and partake in working sessions ranging from mock legislative sessions to in-depth case studies. By the end of the conference, you’ll have a greater understanding of how to succeed in a world outside of school while also playing an active role in improving your community.
