Jeff Mason teaches Political Journalism at Georgetown and has spent nearly 20 years covering U.S. politics and the White House.

Bio and Featured Works

He is a Senior White House & Washington Correspondent at Bloomberg News, starting there in January 2026 after an award-winning 25-year career at Reuters. Jeff has covered the White House since 2009 and has interviewed Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump. He joined Reuters in Frankfurt, Germany in 2000, covering the airline industry, before being posted to Brussels, where he covered the European Union. He returned to the United States in 2008 to cover that year's presidential campaign between Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain. Jeff served as president of the White House Correspondents’ Association from 2016-2017, standing up for press freedom at the beginning of Trump's first term. He appears regularly on television and radio. Jeff has bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism from Northwestern University. He is a Colorado native and former Fulbright scholar.
