Kenneth Joh serves on the faculty of Georgetown Universitys Urban & Regional Planning program and is Program Manager of Travel Surveys at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG), where he also serves as a Principal Statistical Survey Analyst.

Kenneth Joh serves on the faculty of Georgetown University's Urban & Regional Planning program and is Program Manager of Travel Surveys at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG), where he also serves as a Principal Statistical Survey Analyst. He has over two decades of experience designing and managing transportation surveys, household travel surveys, and related data collection programs. Dr. Joh leads the Regional Travel Survey, the Washington region's flagship household travel survey and one of the nation's largest regional household travel survey programs, which collects detailed demographic and travel behavior data to support transportation planning, forecasting, and policy analysis across metropolitan Washington. He is recognized nationally and internationally for his contributions to travel survey methodology and transportation data collection.

Dr. Joh currently serves on the Transportation Research Board's (TRB) Travel Data and Methods Committee and previously served as Secretary of the Travel Survey Methods Committee and Co-Chair of its Household Travel Survey Subcommittee. He also serves on the Technical Advisory Committee for the National Household Travel Survey (NHTS). His research and professional interests focus on travel behavior, survey methodology, data quality, and emerging transportation data sources and survey methodologies.

Dr. Joh has published over two dozen articles in leading urban planning and transportation journals and has taught more than 20 undergraduate and graduate courses. At Georgetown, he teaches Quantifying Urban Mobility, Advanced Quantitative Methods, and Global Metropolitan Planning. His teaching draws extensively on his professional experience leading large-scale transportation surveys, providing students with practical experience in survey design, quantitative analysis, and applied transportation planning. In recognition of his excellence in teaching and mentorship, he received Georgetown University's Outstanding Faculty Award at the 2024 Tropaia Exercises. He has advised more than 50 graduate students on capstone and professional projects, many of whom have gone on to careers in transportation planning, public policy, consulting, and government.

He holds a Ph.D. in Planning, Policy, and Design from the University of California, Irvine, a Master of Urban Planning from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego.
