Women in Cybersecurity

Date: Monday, March 8
Time: 12:00-1:00 p.m. ET

On International Women's Day, faculty members of the Master's in Cybersecurity Risk Management program will discuss the evolution of women's roles and their achievements in the field of cybersecurity. They will also address emerging trends in which women can continue to make a significant contribution. This virtual event will be moderated by Dr. Frederic Lemieux.

Come meet Jen Ngozi, alumna of the Human Resources Management program, who founded NetWerk® which is a global women in leadership movement and organization that has been featured in publications such as Vogue and HuffPost. Jen started her organization because she found there were many gaps in her understanding of the workforce as a first generation immigrant with parents that didn't work corporate jobs. NetWerk® was created to help fill these gaps for other women and to help build the community, confidence and skills needed to become leaders. During this session, Jen will discuss her path, introduce offerings of NetWerk®, and share career focused advice for women.

The Glass Ceiling: Shattered or Cracked

Date: Tuesday, March 30
Time: 5:30-6:30 p.m. ET

During a period of one year, March 2020 to 2021, we have seen the role of women in society, workforce, culture, and leadership placed front and center. The term glass ceiling, introduced by Marilyn Loden over four decades ago, has remained in the jargon of women in leadership in all sectors. Women have shattered the glass ceiling in public and private sectors while the coronavirus pulled the lid off of long-term problems and exposed the experiences faced by women in the workplace who are making their small cracks. This panel focuses on the strategies women have taken during the pandemic to accelerate their careers, spotlight adverse effects experienced by women of color, provide practical career remedies, and highlight industry-specific dilemmas faced by leaders in high profile sectors including hospitality, sports, and entrepreneurship. 

Women in Technology

Date: Wednesday, March 31
Time: 12:00-1:00 p.m. ET

To conclude Women's History Month, faculty members from the Master's in Technology Management program will discuss the evolution of the role of women in technology and their contributions in several industries and disciplines. This virtual event will be moderated by Dr. Frederic Lemieux.
