Message from the Faculty Director

It is my distinct honor as Interim Faculty Director to welcome you to the Master of Professional Studies in Emergency & Disaster Management at Georgetown University. Our program consists of one of the world’s most academically rigorous and comprehensive emergency and disaster management curricula, situated within the academic context of historic Georgetown Jesuit values. This unique combination equips our students to excel as professionals in careers where they live the Georgetown phrase “people for others” every day. Our program leverages our Washington, D.C., location to engage world-class faculty from both conventional emergency and disaster management agencies and traditional academic backgrounds, which enables us to deliver both the theoretical and applied curricula necessary to prepare our graduates to address increasingly complex and ever-growing societal threats. I am pleased you have chosen to undertake these challenges by pursuing your education at Georgetown.

With warm regards,

Frederic Lemieux, Ph.D.
Interim Faculty Director and Professor of the Practice, Emergency & Disaster Management
