Mr. Friedman founded Friedman Capital in 2010 and leads the firm's Real Estate investing practice. A seasoned real estate developer and investor, Mr. Friedman is also a co-founder and Managing Partner of Foxhall Partners, a commercial real estate firm that specializes in opportunistic, value-added, and core-plus equity and participating debt investments in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, with a primary focus on urban and infill neighborhoods. Previously, Mr. Friedman was a Vice President and the Chief Investment Officer at First Management Group (FMG), a Maryland-based Pension fund advisory and real estate asset management, development and private equity firm with $1.2 billion of assets under management. At FMG, Mr. Friedman worked on new developments and led the asset management of thirty-six properties (valued at over $2.2 billion) in thirty-two states. Prior to joining FMG, Mr. Friedman was a Manager in the Assurance & Business Advisory Services group at KPMG, where he managed risk assessment, corporate recovery and merger and acquisition activities. Mr. Friedman began his career as a Senior Associate within KPMG’s Audit department. Concurrent with his responsibilities at KPMG, Mr. Friedman worked for forty months in the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency and Department of Defense as an acquisition specialist. Mr. Friedman is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He is a founding board member of the Adams Morgan Youth Leadership Academy and serves on the Mind Matters committee at Washington Hebrew. Mr. Friedman also spends time volunteering at Iona Senior Services of Washington D.C. and is a non-practicing Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Friedman received his B.S., M.A., and M.B.A. from the Kogod School at The American University.
