Francie Dalton, CMC, is founder and president of Dalton Alliances, LLC., a D.C. based C-level consultancy specializing in the management, behavioral and performance measurement sciences. Among her offerings are trademarked programs that convey certification, customized assessments such as 360 degree evaluations and key stakeholder surveys; executive retreats; and an array of follow-up services including developmental workshops, pivotal interventions, and intensive executive coaching. The results of recent client engagements are presented below.


Ø Having won commitment from the Administrator of a large federal agency to require an explicitly measurable strategic plan, clarified obscured outcomes and provided valid qualitative measures for over 120 goals and related objectives, increasing measurability of the strategic plan from 35% to 100%. Certified 30 client employees as internal consulting cadre in the application of Evidence Based Performance Measures™. 

Ø After capturing staff perceptions about the effectiveness of their 8-person executive team: conducted a two-day leadership retreat to present the organizational impacts of their fractured state; evoked and codified team member commitment to professionalizing behavior.  

Ø Provided newly installed COO in a multi-billion dollar organization with strategic consulting and coaching needed to wisely and skillfully restructure and/or reorganize 5 divisions while simultaneously delivering on board priorities and maintaining alignment with established guiding principles.


Francie’s work in leadership development has been featured in hundreds of industry and trade publications and journals, including Harvard Management Update, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Washington Business Journal, CEO Magazine, Investor’s Business Daily, The Journal of Compensation and Benefits, ASAE’s peer reviewed Journal of Association Leadership, and many more. Her book, “Versatility: How to Optimize Interactions when 7 Workplace Behaviors are at Their Worst”, has been published in both the U.S. and in China.


A wartime veteran of U.S. Army Military Intelligence Service, Francie was trained as a German linguist, spending 4.5 years on active duty. She earned her MA in Business from Johns Hopkins University while building her professional portfolio as an executive in specialty steel manufacturing and technical sales. Her innovative business plans won generous funding from the Kauffman Institute of Entrepreneurship and she has earned the coveted Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation, an achievement shared by less than 12% of management consultants globally.
