Sophia Nimlo
Sophia Nimlo is a doctoral candidate in the Department of History at Georgetown University.
She studies the history of slavery, emancipation, and Reconstruction in the United States. Her research focuses on childhood and institutional development in Reconstruction Era Washington D.C. Sophia earned her BA in Japanese and MAT in K-8 Education from the University of Puget Sound, and an MA in History from American University. Before moving to D.C., Sophia taught elementary and middle school in Tacoma, Washington.
