Michael Spead

Michael has over 20 years transforming organizational strategies and objectives into actionable projects / programs / portfolios that achieve sustainable and measurable results for commercial, non-profit, and government entities. He leads organization-level change and innovation efforts, including scaled Agile Transformations that drive organizations to be more value-, product-, and customer-centric.


Michael's experience spans multiple industries, including: financial services, banking, IT, healthcare, broadband and wireless, education, professional services, federal and state government, and non-profit sectors. Currently, Michael is a Principal in the Enterprise Program and Risk Management division at a large, global consulting firm, where he previously served as the PMO Standup product line leader and currently serves as the Agile Transformation product line leader.


Michael has over 15 years of experience coaching, mentoring, and teaching all levels of experience - from C-Suite executives to untrained professionals - in areas including leadership, Agile product management, project/program / portfolio management, business process engineering, risk management, quality management, and change management. Michael has been an Adjunct Professor for almost 15 years, currently at Georgetown University's Master's in Project and Program Management program (2019 Tropaia Outstanding Faculty Award winner) and Georgetown's School of Continuing Studies Project Management certification program.


Michael previously served as a Vice President and Board Member for the Project Management Institute's (PMI) Washington DC Chapter. Michael holds a BBA from the George Washington University in Finance and International Finance, an MBA from George Mason University in Project Management, and a JD from the Catholic University of America. Michael holds PMP, SAFe SPC, CSPO, CSM, and Six Sigma certifications.
