Iris Krasnow, Master of Arts in Liberal Studies graduate and assistant professor in the School of Professional and Extended Studies at American University, writes about her transition from teaching undergraduates to teaching courses for older students and why lifelong learning is vital. In a recent article in the Washington Post's Answer Sheet section, Krasnow writes, "I am newly grateful for the academic specialty I have chosen, teaching people how to write better, a skill I believe forms the backbone of a successful career."
