What’s the key to effecting successful organizational change? Well, if you feel it in your gut, if you have a hunch, if you’ve heard an idea discussed someplace else—these are not the ways to help an organization improve, says Dr. Ed Hasan, CEO of Kaizen Human Capital. Instead, he says, it takes clear goals, keen observation, the intelligent use of data, and an understanding that one size does not fit all. Here, Hasan, an instructor in Georgetown University’s Master's in Human Resources Management program, talks with Jennifer Aaronson, an alumna of the program, about the challenges facing organizations today. The biggest, Hasan says, will require organizations to concentrate on three things: “inclusion, diversity, and equity.”
