To earn an Executive Master’s in Global Sports Operations & Strategy, you must successfully complete 5 courses (30 credits total), including the following:

  • Business Sports Operations: Strategy, Systems, and Success (6 credits)
    • Residency Location: Manchester and London, England
    • Residency Dates: November 2026, five days
  • Sports Governance: Ethical Issues, Legal Frameworks, and Financial Strategies (6 credits)
  • Future Frontiers: Emerging Technologies and Innovations in Professional Sports (6 credits)
    • Residency Locations: New York and Washington, D.C., United States
    • Total Residency Days: April 2027, five days
  • Playbook to Success: A Global Sports Capstone (6 credits)

Residencies

The residency experience immerses executive master’s students in the inner workings of the global sports industry through exclusive access, high‑impact learning, and curated professional engagement. Students participate in private venue tours, gaining firsthand insight into how elite professional sports organizations operate behind the scenes.

Throughout the residency, the students meet with and learn directly from executive leaders across the professional sports landscape, exploring real‑time challenges, innovation strategies, and leadership practices shaping the future of the industry.

The first residency takes place in Manchester and London, England, during the fall semester, and the second residency is held in Washington, D.C. and New York City during the spring semester. Together, these experiential learning experiences offer students an unparalleled opportunity to witness the business of sport with an insider’s perspective while strengthening their leadership capabilities. Admitted students who enroll will receive a preliminary itinerary with additional information about specific activities.

Program Format

The Executive Master’s in Global Sports Operations & Strategy program is structured in a cohort model with modular online synchronous sessions and two in-person residency experiences.

All programs offered by Georgetown University are fully accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
