Renu Singh
Academic Director Renu Singh is an Assistant Professor in the School of Government and International Affairs at Durham University.
She is also a scholar at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University Law Center, a DAAD research ambassador for the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst/German Academic Exchange Service, an executive board member for the International Studies Association’s Global Health Section, and a faculty affiliate with the Institute for Emerging Market Studies at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Previously, Dr. Singh was a faculty member at Bocconi University in Milan and HKUST in Hong Kong. Her research focuses on bringing the worlds of science and policy together, which includes work on comparative social policy, global health security, the political economy of health, and sustainability. Much of this work is inspired by her time working as a Fulbright Scholar in Berlin, for Senator Edward M. Kennedy and the Bipartisan Policy Center in DC, for Helmholtz Zentrum Munich and the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy in Munich, and for the Environmental Investment Organization and LSE Enterprise in London. Her passion for teaching high school students started in 2004 as part of the faculty at MIT’s High School Summer Program, and she has taught a number of courses in the natural and social sciences since then. She began teaching for the Georgetown summer programs in 2015. Dr. Singh has a PhD and MA in Political Science from the Department of Government at Georgetown. She also has an MS in Public Policy and Administration from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a BS in Microbiology and BA in Political Science, summa cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
