Magan started her career as a reporter at The Capitol in Annapolis, Maryland, where she covered local news from school board meetings to a dentist who was moonlighting as a stunt pilot.
Magan has a master's degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism as well as a bachelor's in International Studies from the University of Oregon.
