People who adopt rescue dogs sometimes say that, in reality, the dog rescued them—a nice turn of phrase perhaps, but what does it mean? Listen to retired Marine Sgt. Craig Grossi talk about Fred, the stray he smuggled out of a war zone in Afghanistan, and those words make perfect sense. Grossi is a graduate of Georgetown’s Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and author of “Craig & Fred: A Marine, A Stray Dog, and How They Rescued Each Other.” Here he talks with Trey Sullivan, Liberal Studies Program Director, about the funny-looking white dog who changed both of their lives.
