“So how do you bridge technology and the non-technologist?” Maria F. Trujillo, Ph.D., Faculty Director of Georgetown’s graduate programs in Technology Management and Systems Engineering Management, asks her guest in this video. Turns out, she came to the right source. “I’m a perfect example of that,” says Sam Gordy, General Manager of IBM Federal, which serves the immense federal market. Not a technologist by training, Gordy attended Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service before getting his MBA (although he did specialize in technology management). “I think the key is listening and engagement,” he says. “You need to understand enough of the problem, and you need to know enough about the technology to connect the two.”
Georgetown University remains open and dedicated to excellence in providing key services to our community. All in-person courses continue through distance instruction. All staff and faculty who normally work at the 640 Massachusetts Ave NW campus are teleworking and are available virtually.
