Turns out, she came to the right source. “I’m a perfect example of that,” says Sam Gordy, General Manager of IBM Federal, which serves the immense federal market. Not a technologist by training, Gordy attended Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service before getting his MBA (although he did specialize in technology management). “I think the key is listening and engagement,” he says. “You need to understand enough of the problem, and you need to know enough about the technology to connect the two.”
