Carol Craig has this advice for young entrepreneurs—especially female ones—interested in launching a new venture: “Sometimes you just have to jump,” she says, paraphrasing science fiction writer Ray Bradbury, “and build your wings on the way down.” One of the first women eligible to fly combat aircraft for the U.S. Navy and now Co-Founder of the satellite communications company Sidus Space, Craig knows something about building wings. Here, she talks with John Gilroy, an instructor in Georgetown University’s Master’s in Technology Management program, about the promising outlook for professional women. “It’s a great time for women entrepreneurs,” she says. “It’s a great time for women in the military, women to do just about anything. Because the rest of the world is noticing: We’re pretty good.”
