U.S. Elections War Game Debrief

RSVP

The Applied Intelligence Program at Georgetown University's School of Continuing Studies (SCS) is proud to announce an in-depth war game simulation designed to analyze and forecast the implications of geopolitical shifts following the 2024 U.S. presidential elections on the intelligence community and the future of the intelligence profession. This immersive exercise will explore two divergent foreign policy pathways: one in which the U.S. maintains a traditional, alliance-driven global stance, and another in which the country shifts toward isolationism.

The simulation, which will be conducted by 50 current students from the Master's in Applied Intelligence on October 22, 2024, faculty and other practitioners, will engage participants in key roles as Intelligence Analysts. They will provide critical insights to decision makers across various entities such as the Department of Defense's Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), the CIA, the State Department’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR), NATO, Russian Intelligence community, and other significant global actors. By examining both isolationist and alliance-based scenarios, participants will assess the potential impacts on international relations, security, and global markets.

The debriefing event, scheduled for October 30, 2024, at 6:00 PM ET, will offer a comprehensive review of the war game’s findings. Key takeaways from both tracks will be presented, highlighting the strategic challenges and opportunities that might emerge in the post-election geopolitical landscape. This session will provide invaluable insights into how different U.S. foreign policy approaches could influence global alliances, conflict zones, economic stability, and the evolving priorities of the intelligence community and national security.

Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of decision-making processes, the role of intelligence in shaping foreign policy, and the complexities of balancing national security interests with global responsibilities. This event will be a critical opportunity for those interested in exploring the future of U.S. intelligence operations and their impact on global geopolitical dynamics.
