Her previous faculty appointment as Assistant Professor in the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management at Temple University included undergraduate and graduate curriculum development for the tourism and hospitality management department, student advising for undergraduate and graduate academic and career plans, serving as the university representative to the Faculty Senate and school budget committee. Prior to Temple, Erinn was an Assistant Professor in the School of Hospitality Administrator at Boston University (BU). Dr. Tucker collaborated closely with the Office of the Provost, deans and faculty as member of the BU University Council. She developed curriculum for the School of Hospitality Administration, developed the first Washington DC Event Management Summer hospitality program and co-created the Tourism in China experiential course. In addition to being elected to chair the academic policy committee, she served as campus student mentor for the POSSE diversity program, worked with adjuncts and served on two search committees.
Dr. Tucker has consulted for sports teams (Charlotte Bobcats and Charlotte Knights) in the areas of employee training and development. Nationally, she has consulted in the area of curriculum design for non-profit and for-profit universities. Globally, Erinn has provided curriculum and development design for workforce-training company, West Africa Vocational Education (WAVE) in Nigeria, which provides training for adults to pursue jobs in the hospitality industry and she has instructed adult students enrolled in a hospitality government workforce development program for University of Nevada Las Vegas, Singapore campus.
In addition, she serves on the advisory board for tech company, Apploi, a contributor to LODGING Magazine, and Washington, DC based, event technology company, Social Tables. She co-founded the HR and Diversity Summit, presented by LODGING in 2012 and 2013. She has held management positions with General Motors R* Works and Dave & Busters, Inc.
Dr. Tucker is a recipient of the 2016 Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Education’s ‘Article of the Year’ awarded by the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (ICHRIE) and is the 2017-2018 Northeast North American (NENA) Federation President for ICHRIE. She was also inducted into the Pinnacle Leadership Society - Distinguished Alumni from her alma mater Winthrop University College of Business. Erinn is active in key industry associations through committee membership and leadership in the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA).
Dr. Tucker holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, a master’s degree in Sport Administration from Florida State University and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Winthrop University. Erinn completed her Ph.D. in Hospitality Administration at Oklahoma State University (OSU).
