Dr. Attila Hertelendy has just over fifteen years of educational experience ranging from classroom and online settings, teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
He also has several years of experience in University administration. He received a Ph.D. in Clinical Health Sciences with a specialization in Healthcare Administration from the medical school at the University of Mississippi. He also received a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Charles Sturt University in Australia and a Master's degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Mississippi. His research interests include leadership and teams, emergency medical services, and emergency management.
His background spans a career in emergency services working through the ranks as a Paramedic/ Firefighter up to a Fire Chief. He has worked in a variety of settings both in the municipal fire service as well as the oil and gas industry as an Emergency Management advisor for large Oil and Petrochemical companies such as Aramco and SABIC. He then moved into healthcare administration managing Emergency Departments, ICU's and Trauma Services. He recently taught full-time as a management professor in a large public University in South Florida at an AACSB accredited Business School. My area of specialization and research is in and Emergency/ Disaster Management, Organizational Behavior, Leadership and Strategic Management. He taught both undergraduates and graduates students both in the MBA, and Executive MBA levels. He consults regularly to industry clients mainly in healthcare, and he does a considerable amount of work in emergency management consulting worldwide. He loves to travel and has lived in Canada (where he is originally from), U.S., United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. In his free time, he travels, skis, scuba dives, reads, and is currently working on his private pilot's license.
