Rolando Arrieta

Rolando is a three-time George Foster Peabody award-winning journalist, storyteller and educator. At NPR, he is the Deputy Director of Content Operations where he supervises the day-to-day audio and video content production and breaking news coverage. He also leads a sub-committee that is designing a software tool for journalists to track diverse sources and is a member of NPR’s Improve Workplace Culture team. As a journalist, Rolando has traveled on assignment around the world, Cuba, Panama, the Haiti earthquake, the Zika crisis in Puerto Rico, hurricane aftermaths in the Caribbean and the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. Rolando was also part of the team that received a grant from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting where he reported and produced an episode on the Latin American Cuban migration crisis for the podcast Radio Ambulante. Rolando received a Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Sound Design award. He teaches Audio Storytelling at Georgetown's School of Continuing Studies.
