In addition, students will gain perspectives on contemporary management theory and practice from a distinguished faculty comprising instructors from Georgetown's McDonough School of Business and business experts.

Leadership Management

Strategic Leadership Certificate Program

In the constantly evolving healthcare landscape, leaders shoulder the dual responsibility of guiding their institution toward the envisioned future while simultaneously nurturing and cultivating the next generation of high-potential Qatari leaders, ensuring the continued excellence and growth of Sidra Medicine. This Strategic Leadership Development Certificate Program combines the wisdom of American hospitals and healthcare leaders with the unique challenges and opportunities inherent to Sidra Medicine and Qatar.

Innovative Leadership in Public Administration Certificate Program

In the Innovative Leadership in Public Administration Certificate Program, participants will develop foundational skills in critical functions necessary for success in public administration while also building competencies in leadership. The program combines interactive classroom instruction with personal one-on-one leadership coaching, which allows participants substantive opportunities for self-assessment, reflection, and feedback. In addition, the theoretical frameworks and knowledge gained in the classroom will be complemented with the completion of a practical leadership project and opportunities to share real-world experiences with guest speakers from local, state, and federal governments.

This program was created for the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA) Executive Leadership Institute Fellows.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility

Executive Leadership Program in Managing for Inclusion

The Executive Leadership Program in Managing for Inclusion provides executives with a systems approach to understanding the field of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Accessibility (DEIA) and applying DEIA to their organizations. Participants will look at how differences at the individual; group, and system level can be leveraged to the organization’s benefit. The program is meant to provide a broad overview of DEIA as well as help participants apply theory and DEIA principles and promote a culture of inclusion across the entire organization.

This Customized Virtual Program was created for United States Air Force Senior Leaders.

Advancing Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate Program

With the awareness of the business case for DEI, forward-thinking organizations are making efforts to integrate DEI at the heart of their business strategy. At the same time, there is a growing realization that the business case is not enough to end historical social injustices, and that organizations need to take their moral responsibilities more seriously.

The Advancing DEI in the Workplace Certificate Program, designed specifically for credit union leaders in a partnership between Georgetown University and the MD|DC Credit Union Association, will equip participants with the competencies, knowledge, and tools to develop effective DEI strategies. Through customized case studies, peer-based learning, and discussions with distinguished industry speakers and expert faculty, participants will learn evidence-based approaches and best practices for creating and sustaining an inclusive workplace culture.

This program was developed for leadership and management teams of the Credit Unions of the MD|DC Credit Union Association.

Cybersecurity

Privacy & Data Security Certificate Program

Cybersecurity is a dynamic, emerging field that involves protecting organizations from threats. Recent high-profile data breaches demonstrate that organizations continue to struggle with protecting their customers, assets, and reputations.

The Certificate in Privacy & Data introduces students to practices, rights, and policies to preserve security and privacy as well as technical countermeasures in cybersecurity. Designed for students enrolled in ISDE’s Global Master in Cybersecurity, the program is taught by academics from Georgetown University and ISDE. Participants will explore real-world cyber threat dilemmas and privacy frameworks through a combination of lectures and case studies.

This program was created for law students from El Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía S.A. in Spain.

Professional Communications

Persuasive Communication Program

The ability to communicate effectively is one of the most important attributes of successful managers. This highly engaging, three-day program will focus on persuasive communication situations at work that call for strategy, finesse, and competence.

This program was created with certificate or non-certificate options for several D.C.-based non-profit organizations.

Political Speechwriting Certificate Program

In the Political Speechwriting Certificate Program, participants will gain practical skills in writing speeches for ministers, ambassadors, and other government officials. Participants will explore the underlying principles of aural communication along advanced skills used by professional political speechwriters. These skills include fluency in pacing, key elements of persuasive speaking, creative use of language and structure, and messaging. In addition, participants will learn to analyze audiences and occasions and to use that information to enhance political speeches. The program combines interactive classroom instruction with work in small groups. This allows participants opportunities for self-assessment, reflection, and, in personal discussions with instructors, to ask questions and receive detailed feedback on their speeches and their progress.

This program was developed for bilingual staff at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Doha, Qatar.

Public and Private Partnership

Senior-Level Training in Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and Project Finance

This senior-level training is designed with the client with adherence to the following training principles:
Balancing Practical PPP Skills and Understanding PPP Fundamentals – The training sessions incrementally build participants’ capacity at two levels. Firstly, the fundamental skills and tasks involved in PPPs. This course makes considerable use of applied exercises, which we have found to be the most effective manner of transferring skills. Secondly, the participants’ underlying understanding of PPPs develops incrementally over the duration of the full training program as they work through the PPP project cycle.
Practical PPP Knowledge Transfer – An important objective of the learning sessions is knowledge transfer and ensuring the trainees can transfer their skills to colleagues within their respective institutions. This objective is achieved through highly interactive learning sessions. Georgetown’s Faculty gradually shifts from “sending” information at the start of each training session to leading the trainees through learning by doing. We incorporate practical case studies and group exercises that allow trainees to initiate and procure hypothetical (and potentially actionable) PPPs. The training will link theory to practice and promote application.

This program was developed for the International Finance Corporation, a division within the World Bank Group.
