Patty Long

Patty Long brings over 30 years of experience in government relations, public affairs and communications having held positions in both the private sector and the association world.

She currently serves as the Vice President of Industry Affairs for SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association. Patty also served as a member of the Executive Leadership staff of the National Asphalt Pavement Association for two years. Prior to that, she served as the Vice President for Policy Research and Member Communications at the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the largest industry trade group in America. At the NAM, she handled policy development as well as research and strategic analysis of public policy positions. Patty was also responsible for member communications, oversaw the NAM's policy-making process and managed Washington member relations. Before joining the NAM, Patty was the Director of Public Policy for Farley Industries, a Fortune 500 Corporation (l986 to l990). During that time, she also served as a public relations consultant to President Reagan's Commission on Aviation Safety. Patty received a B.S. in Business Administration from Frostburg State University. She frequently speaks to business audiences on public policy and political involvement and is a faculty member of the Bryce Harlow Foundation. Patty is a native of the Washington, DC metropolitan area and resides in Silver Spring, Maryland with husband and four daughters.
