Joanna Shapiro

Joanna Shapiro is a Client Executive and Managing Director in BNY Mellon’s Global Client Management US Federal Government Group.

Ms. Shapiro has more than 20 years of financial services experience in both the private and Federal sectors. Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Ms. Shapiro was Senior Managing Director of a privately held multi-billion dollar asset manangement firm and was President of a boutique financial advisory firm specializing in housing and the Federal sector. She also worked for Bankers Trust and Deutsche Bank, specializing in MBS/ABS/CMBS securitization and mortgage finance. In addition to serving on the Georgetown Real Estate Advisory Board, Ms. Shapiro advises Georgetown Real Estate Capstone students and lectures in the program. She is President of Women in Housing and Finance, a nonprofit based in Washington DC, sits on the Global Executive Committee for the Women’s Initiative Network and participates in the Fortune Most Powerful Women program. Ms. Shapiro has degrees from the University of Michigan and Georgetown University.
