Patrick Scallen is a social historian and educator who specializes in cross-cultural and global studies with a focus on Latin America and Latinxs in the United States.
Born and raised in Detroit, MI, he lived and worked in Central and South America before returning to the academy. His research focuses on urban history and Latinx immigrant communities in the United States, specifically Salvadorans in the Washington, D.C. area. He is also an instructional coach and teacher mentor in urban secondary education methodology and pedagogy.
