Kazuko Uchimura received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in economics from International Christian University in Tokyo, and a PhD in History from Georgetown University.
A native of Japan, Kazuko Uchimura came to Georgetown University after more than two decades of experience as economist and policy analyst and advisor at the World Bank. Since 2007 she has been on the faculty of the Graduate Liberal Studies Program, School of Continuing Studies. Kazuko’s three MALS courses, “American Workers and the Pursuit of Happiness,” “Becoming American: Immigration in Historical Perspective,” and “Globalization and the American Worker” reflect her abiding interest in American studies and labor history.
