David Lipscomb

At Georgetown, David Lipscomb has taught first-year writing, Argumentative Writing, Rhetoric from Aristotle to PowerPoint, and a graduate course on 21st-Century Rhetoric.


He has also designed and taught numerous courses at Georgetown’s Center for Continuing and Professional Education, including Grant Writing and Communication Planning in a Social Media World. As the Founder of Redpen21, a communication consulting company, David has coached and led workshops for professional communicators at dozens of organizations, including the American Red Cross, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Kellogg, Fannie Mae, and Veterans Affairs. His consulting work was the focus of a profile of David in the Chronicle of Higher Education. His current areas of interest include composition and service learning. Before coming to Georgetown, David taught writing at Wake Forest University and Columbia University.
