Jarrad Henderson

Jarrad Henderson is an adjunct faculty member of the MPS Journalism program in the School of Continuing Studies.

He is a two-time Emmy Award winning video producer who works as a Senior Multimedia Producer with the Investigative and Enterprise Video team at USA Today in McLena, Va. Henderson was honred with the Outstanding Faculty Tropaia Award in 2019.


Prior to teaching at the School of Continuing Studies, Henderson was honored as a Livingston Award for Young Journalists Excellence in National Reporting Finalist in 2017, and was the National Association of Black Journalists’ (NABJ) Salute to Excellence Award Winner for video in 2018. Recognized for being a forward-thinking, internet savvy, digital media and video production expert, Henderson helps others pursue their dreams of becoming visual storytellers through his roles as an adjunct professor, as the chair of the National Association of Black Journalists’ Visual Task Force and as a National speaker at various conferences including SXSW Edu, the Online News Association and SRCCON.


Henderson holds a master's in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Arizona State University.
