I study the history of modern Latin America, with an emphasis on Brazil as well as urban and environmental matters. My dissertation research focuses on the history of water and sanitation in the São Paulo metropolitan region. I am also a returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV), having served in Peru from 2008-2011 as a community health educator and a volunteer coordinator for the Community Health Program.
