Ella-May Seth is a senior economist in the US Government where she has provided US policymakers with subject matter expertise on macroeconomic, trade, and financial developments related to US national security interests for more than two decades.


She has held the position of Acting National Intelligence Officer and Deputy National Intelligence Officer on the National Intelligence Council, which oversees the Intelligence Community’s strategic analysis on global macroeconomic, financial, and energy issues. Ella-May was an editor for the President’s Daily Brief and the Economic Intelligence Brief, and served on the National Security Council in support of the G8 Summit in 2008. She was the 2015-16 National Intelligence Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. 

Prior to joining the Intelligence Community, Ella-May was a senior consultant with the Advisory Board Company, a research, technology, and consulting firm based in Washington, DC, and worked in the US Department of Agriculture’s International Programs Office. Ella-May holds a graduate degree from the London School of Economics and an undergraduate degree Phi Beta Kappa from Trinity College. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
