Innovator or traditionalist? When the subject is designer Corey Jones, one would have to say “both.” Jones is Art Director for Forum One, which won a 2017 Webby Award for its website design for the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. Here, he talks with Wendy Zajack, Faculty Director for Georgetown’s graduate programs in Integrated Marketing Communications and Design Management & Communications, about how the design world is embracing innovations like artificial intelligence and virtual reality. “It just really opens up the possibilities of what you can do,” he says. Yet, at the same time, Jones adds, “The power of good design will always be needed, no matter what the medium is. It’s very exciting.”
