Amy Minniti joined the Philadelphia Union as its Senior Vice President & General Counsel in 2021. She is the first general counsel in the team’s history and is responsible for all legal matters pertaining to the Philadelphia Union, Subaru Park, Philadelphia Union II, the Philadelphia Union Academy, the Union Power Plant and other holdings of Keystone Sports and Entertainment. Amy works closely with both the business and technical sides of the organization, advising on risk management, compliance, transactional matters, and governance.

Amy is on the board of Philly Girls in Motion, a charitable organization that offers sports and fitness instruction to underserved girls in the Philadelphia area. She is also on the faculty of Georgetown’s Sports Industry Management program, where she has taught ethics, leadership and law courses since 2011.

Amy has a long professional history in the sports industry. She started her career with the Pittsburgh Pirates – spending two years working for its General Counsel as a law student. After working as an associate in the Philadelphia office of Reed Smith after she graduated, Amy spent 10 years with the Washington Nationals Baseball Club, most recently as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. Amy joined the Nationals in its infancy and saw the club open Nationals Park, reach the postseason for the first time, construct and operate the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, and achieve many other milestones. She played a major role in establishing the legal department for the team and provided a broad range of corporate legal support during her tenure.

Immediately prior to joining the Philadelphia Union, Amy served as the Vice President & Deputy General Counsel of Spectra, which is a sports and entertainment venue management, food service and hospitality company that manages 200+ venues across North America, including the Philadelphia Union’s stadium, Subaru Park.

Amy received her law degree and a Masters of Public & International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh, and a B.A. from Colgate University.
