Brian Frederick

Brian has served as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University’s Sports Industry Management program since 2011 and has taught over 20 courses, in areas such as Leadership, Ethics, Marketing and Public Relations, and Capstone. He serves as Executive Vice President of Communications for The ALS Association. Brian first started working with the Association while he was Vice President of Public Affairs at Porter Novelli. During the 2014 ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, Brian was brought in to help with crisis and strategic communications. While at Porter Novelli, Brian also led other integrated marketing campaigns for corporate and nonprofit clients.

Brian has a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Colorado, and M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a B.A. in English from the University of Iowa. He lives in Washington, D.C., with his family.
