Professional:  


More than two decades experience as a Government Relations and Sports Philanthropy Executive: 


Senior Government Affairs Manager, National Recreation and Park Association. Registered Lobbyist on behalf of over 50,000 state and local park and recreation professionals and citizen advocates (2011-17).


Director of Government Relations, U.S. Soccer Foundation (1998-2011); FIFA Women’s World Cup USA™ 1999 & 2003; “United for DC” (DC United Foundation) founding Vice President.                   


Sport-based youth development, program measurement & evaluation, corporate social responsibility, event logistics and protocol, as well as public policy and legislative analysis. 


While with U.S. Soccer Foundation, Dave advocated for “safe and accessible places for all children to play, be active and healthy” and the programming to accommodate the increasing number of underserved youth interested in playing the game. He successfully secured over $10 million in federal funding for sports-based youth development programs, as well as local community parks, is credited with establishing the Congressional Soccer Caucus, and crafting legislation which would use organized sports as the vehicle to combat childhood obesity and delinquency.    


Personal:


Public and community engagement – appointed to multiple public commissions on sports and public recreation in his native Arlington, Virginia; lecturing and advising on sports philanthropy, globalization and business; passionate soccer supporter and evangelist, including licensed coach and certified referee.   


Dave received his Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University and holds a Legislative Certificate from the Maxwell School of Public Policy at Syracuse University.
