Katherine Smith, MPH, NBC-HWC, ACC is a dual-credentialed Health and Wellness Coach and trainer, and Professor at the Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH), teaching in their health and wellness coaching and health promotion departments.
She got her MPH in Health Behavior from the University of Michigan. With 25 years in the field of health and wellness, she is also Adjunct Faculty at the George Washington University School of Public Health, Georgetown University and Meharry Medical College, where she teaches mindfulness and health coaching to students and staff. In addition to her University work, Ms. Smith has spent several years teaching and training as part of the Veterans Administration Whole Health Initiative. She conducts research on worksite wellness and coaching and was the 2021 recipient of the MUIH Excellence in Scholarship and Research Award. She serves on the American Public Health Association (APHA), Integrative, Complementary, and Traditional Health Practices Executive Committee and the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) Research Commission.
