Rong Zhu is an Instructional Design and Technology Specialist at Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies.
She started working as an instructional designer in higher education in 2006. Since then, she has been working with faculty on new course design/development and course revisions at the University of Connecticut Distance Education Office, Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies, and Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) Online. She once served as the lead of the new course design and development team at NOVA Online and worked on new course development and OER (Open Educational Resources) course redesigns.
In addition to her instructional design work, she used to teach the Designing Rubrics and Providing Feedback workshop and the Preparing Student Learning Objectives workshop online at NOVA. Besides, she was also an online facilitator for the Applying the QM Rubric workshop of Quality Matters (QM). She believes that her role in teaching online is to facilitate effective learning by providing support and maintaining a friendly online environment.
Rong Zhu received her M.Ed. Degree in educational technology from Texas A&M University, College Station.
