For more than 25 years Debra Alexander has assisted organizations in creating inclusive and relational cultures that promote and sustain employee engagement, high performance and positive results.
Debra Alexander is Senior Partner with Alexander Consulting and Training, Inc. She is passionate about supporting individual, team, leadership and organizational performance; building internal capacity to sustain change; and, identifying, protecting, engaging and leveraging the relationships critical to success. She has consulted to more than 100 organizations in the for profit, non-profit, social justice, government, academia and union sectors; and, has personally trained more than 150,000 employees, supervisors, managers, HR officials, DEI officials and Board members, nationwide. She and her partner/spouse, Ben Alexander, have created award winning Diversity and Inclusion training videos and instructional products that have been used or attended by more than 500,000 participants. Debra has extensive experience in assessing developing HR policies and procedures. Her experience also includes a ten-year appointment as Special Government Expert (for organization development and human resources management) with the Department of Transportation’s Office of Inspector General and serving as a Learning Coach for the Excellence in Government Leadership Development Fellows Program for Federal executives. She has completed doctoral studies at Teachers College, Columbia University and is currently a doctoral candidate in Organization Development at the University of St. Thomas where she is researching culturally based strategies for mitigating and reducing the effects of bias. She completed the post-graduate program in Organization and Systems Development at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland and holds an M.S. in Human Resources and Organization Development from the American University (AU/NTL). She has a B.A. in English Literature from Hampton University. A life-long learner, Deb utilizes the Hogan Assessments, MBTI, Change Management (Tipping Point), job analysis (DDI), StrengthsFinders, Conflict Styles and other assessment tools. She recently completed the Relational Uprising program on relational culture and is currently enrolled in a restorative practices program (peacemaking) with Eastern Mennonite University.
