Anthony Balestrieri

Anthony Balestrieri is director and head of acquisitions in Washington, D.C. for MetLife Real Estate.

Mr. Balestrieri has 15 years of real estate experience in the Washington, D.C. market encompassing more than $10 billion in commercial real estate transactions. In his role, he is responsible for developing and leading implementation of the equity investment strategy for all property types and risk profiles throughout the Mid-Atlantic.


Prior to MetLife, Mr. Balestrieri served as a Director of Acquisitions and Development with the Washington, D.C. office of Tishman Speyer. Prior to his role at Tishman Speyer, Mr. Balestrieri was an Acquisitions Associate at the local development firm, Akridge and a Consultant at Ernst & Young LLP.


Mr. Balestrieri is a Board Member of the Downtown Washington Business Improvement District (BID) and serves as an adjunct professor in the graduate real estate programs at Georgetown University. Mr. Balestrieri previously served as an executive committee member of the Urban Land Institute, President of The DC Real Estate Group, and adjunct professor at George Washington University. Mr. Balestrieri has a BA in Finance from George Washington University in Washington D.C., which included a year of studies in finance at the London School of Economics.


Mr. Balestrieri was recognized as a top 40 under 40 by the Washington Business Journal in 2017.
