Shannon Cochran-Yzquierdo

Shannon is the founder and owner of Coaching Courage, LLC and she is passionate about inspiring and motivating leaders to embrace their courage. She finds purpose in supporting leaders as they experience transition and growth in their chosen fields.

In addition, she is committed to helping women, minorities, and members of the LGBTQ+ community strengthen their leadership capacity. Shannon is a blend of Hispanic and Caucasian heritage, a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and an active volunteer with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, where she voluntarily shaves her head each year to raise money and awareness for children’s cancer research. Shannon has an innate ability to connect with people at any leadership level and in all walks of life. This is, in part, due to her diverse background, and her warm, welcoming, and friendly demeanor. Her professional journey includes navigation from High School Science Teacher & Head Volleyball Coach to FBI New Agent Trainee to Intelligence Analyst to Government Contractor supporting multiple organizations within the United States Intelligence Community (USIC), and finally, becoming an Executive Leadership Coach. Shannon’s adaptability and servant’s heart provided her with opportunities to serve in various roles across the USIC to include her support to senior leaders as an Executive Officer, FBI and ODNI Relationship Manager to the Private Sector, Senior Advisor to senior leadership, and Strategic Communications Professional across a variety of clients. Shannon’s leadership, expertise in collaboration and relationship building, flexibility, and team work make her a sought-after resource. Shannon is a connector, who motivates and inspires others. She is known for her candor, speaking truth to power, direct communication, strategic thinking, program coordination, organization, and execution. Shannon’s education includes a B.S in Biology Education and a M.S. in Forensic Science. She earned her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in 2016 from the Project Management Institute and an Executive Certificate in Leadership Coaching in 2020 from Georgetown University. Shannon is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Associate Certified Coach (ACC).
