Devon Haynie is the assistant managing editor for the cities section at U.S. News & World Report. She joined the company in 2013 as a higher education reporter, tracking innovations in the online higher education space and documenting the challenges faced by international students. In 2015, she was a founding member of the international news team at U.S. News, writing and editing international news features. Prior to joining U.S. News, Haynie worked as an enterprise reporter for The Journal Gazette in Indiana. She's written for the Associated Press, The Washingtonian, CityLab, Indianapolis Monthly and other news organizations. She was a 2008 Associated Press Overseas Press Club Fellow in South Africa, a 2016 International Reporting Project Fellow covering health and the environment in South Africa and Lesotho, and a 2017 International Reporting Fellow covering post-war tensions in Sri Lanka.
