Message from the Director of Liberal Studies Graduate Programs

Georgetown's Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program is a unique degree that emphasizes a comprehensive educational approach, providing you with the skills and experiences that cultivate a deeper understanding of human nature, which can be applied both inside and outside of the workplace. The major events of human history, the best scholarship on human values and ethics, and the great works of literature, philosophy, theology, art, and science are not only studied for what they say, but also used as the subject matter for class discussion and other coursework.

Housed on Georgetown's main campus, our program offers small class sizes and specialized faculty attention. We draw students from a wide variety of industries, age groups, and backgrounds. As you read, discuss, analyze, write, debate, and share within this community of scholars, you will grow—intellectually, culturally, and professionally. Your classmates will serve as some of your most important learning resources throughout your time in the program.
