Elizabeth Zelensky is a scholar, writer and translator.
She received her PhD. in History from Georgetown University in 1993. She is currently teaching in the Liberal Studies Graduate Program at Georgetown University. From 2006-2012 she taught European and Russian history at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Doha, Qatar. She has also taught a range of courses for the Georgetown University History Department, Goucher College, American University and University of Maryland. She has worked as a historical consultant for the US Department of State and for the Office of Special Investigations in the US Department of Justice. Her scholarly interests focus on the discourse of Westernization in pre-revolutionary Russia, gender, childhood and spirituality.
