Daniel Lyons has 15 years of experience managing planning, development and construction projects.
The geography of his projects ranges from New York to California and from DC to Boston.
He is a Principal in his own development firm, Lyons & Company, which focuses on the rehabilitation and repositioning of distressed property in the Washington and Baltimore markets for sale and for lease.
At Raytheon Engineers & Constructors in New York, he was responsible for resident engineering, construction management and geologic, hydrogeologic, and geotechnical investigations associated with the siting, design and construction of infrastructure projects ranging from New York City public schools to the Croton Water Supply.
At Goody Clancy in Boston, he created vision and development plans for communities across the country and led the award-winning Urban River Visions project, focused on downtown and waterfront revitalization. Urban River Visions won three national awards.
At Winchester Homes in Bethesda, he managed the planning, design and entitlement process for large, complex real estate development projects ranging in size from 45 units to 1100 units and valued at hundreds of millions of dollars.
Mr. Lyons has held many volunteer positions on various city, county, and state boards related to parks, planning and development. These include service on the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Task Force on Open Space (Connecticut), the Land Conservation Trust (Connecticut), and the Forest Conservation Advisory Committee (Maryland). He has also served on two homeowner association boards and various other professional and nonprofit boards including the Land Use Council (FCBA) and Environmental Committee (MNCBIA) of local builder's associations.
Mr. Lyons has degrees from Princeton University (Bachelor's in civil engineering), Duke University (Master's in environmental management), and the University of North Carolina (Master's in urban planning and real estate).
