Alexander Cole

For 15 years, Alex has served as a brand strategist, spokesperson, consumer insights researcher, and campaign advisor to major foundations, Fortune 500 companies, national advocacy organizations, and elected leaders.

Currently, Alex is Director of Communications for IREX, a global development and education nonprofit with an annual portfolio of $80 million and operations in 120 countries around the world.

Previously, Alex worked as a strategic communications consultant as a Principal at Monitor 360 and a Vice President at Hattaway Communications. He has led large-scale advocacy, branding, social media, and thought leadership initiatives for organizations such as the Ford Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Open Society Foundations, Rockefeller Foundation, Harvard Business School, CARE, Acumen Fund, National Democratic Institute, and the Human Rights Campaign. He has served as a consultant to more than a dozen candidates for elective office, including Hillary Clinton for President (2008) and Senator Jeanne Shaheen.

Alex also served as Communications Director for Congressman Harry Teague, who won a come-from-behind victory for a US House seat in New Mexico, and worked as a community organizer for Democracy Matters. He holds a BA from Vassar College and a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
