Gordon Ho is founder & President of the Xpertainment group (Xpertainment.Com), a consultancy applying his unique intersection of experience development and marketing. He most recently served as the global Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Sales at Princess Cruises, the 3rd largest cruise line in the world. Gordon and his team conceived and launched Princess highly successful “Come Back New” integrated marketing & experience campaign. New experiences launched included Discovery at Sea, bringing Discovery Channel and Animal Planet experience to Princess (voted #1 Shore Excursion program by Magellan); the Princess Luxury Bed and Princess Sleep program with Sleep Doctor, Michael Breus (voted #1 cruise bed by Cruise Critic), and new culinary offerings including Chef Curtis Stone’s first restaurant at sea, Share. Gordon spearheaded Princess marketing launch into Asia, including their successful launch of Sapphire Princess & Majestic Princess in China, with Yao Ming as celebrity spokesperson. Gordon’s team also drove their “personalization at scale” initiative and new marketing technology solutions which drove double-digit ROI improvements in advertising and e-commerce conversions.
As Disney’s Executive Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Content & Technology within Home Entertainment, Gordon created Disney’s $3B direct–to–video category, led its animated library and catalog re-launch strategy, and oversaw Disney’s expansion into DVD, Blu-ray and Digital channels including the Blu-ray+DVD+Digital combo packs and top sellers The Lion King, High School Musical and ABC’s LOST. He and his team led Disney’s digital marketing and content strategies with Stan Lee digital comics and Apple’s iTunes content, and they developed the industry’s #1 CRM loyalty program, Disney Movie Rewards, and #1 subscription program, Disney Movie Club. Gordon also chaired Disney Studio’s environmental efforts as member of Disney’s Executive Environmental Council and Studio Green Team head.
Gordon currently serves on the Advisory Board of Retina, optimizing customer lifetime value, Immortal Studios, a new, martial arts fantasy content studio, Simulmedia, driving data-driven TV & videogame ads, Camino Robotics, a next gen mobility walker, and OKVera, a healthcare ecommerce platform. He also serves on the Board of the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment, (CapeUSA.org) fostering diversity in entertainment and the Board of the Ronald McDonald House of Southern California. Gordon also served on the advisory boards of Rixty, a videogame payment platform which was successfully sold, and iTV, the #1 2nd screen social tv platform on iTunes, Previously, Gordon held positions in Hewlett Packard and Leo Burnett Advertising. Gordon holds an MBA from Northwestern University and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.
Gordon enjoys travelling, local foods, tennis, fantasy football, and rooting for his Wisconsin professional sports teams! He has 2 sons working in technology and recently celebrated his 30th anniversary with his wife.
