Michelle Trusso

Dr. Michelle Trusso is an Adjunct Professor for the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University.

Dr. Trusso’s research and teaching interests include conflict analysis and resolution, strategy development and implementation, and organizational leadership. A retired Marine officer with more than 21 years of experience, she served as an intelligence officer in assignments from the tactical level to the strategic level including positions with Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC) and Special Operations Command (SOCOM). She served in overseas assignments in Italy and Iraq.


Dr. Trusso’s previous jobs include: Operations Officer for the Joint Intelligence Center Special Operations Command; Intelligence Company Commander for the Marine Corps Special Operations Command; and Production and Analysis Lead for the Marine Corps Intelligence Activity. She holds a PhD from Nova Southeastern University in Conflict Analysis and Resolution; a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College; a Master of Military Studies from the Marine Corps University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Miami University. She also has a Post Graduate Certificate in Strategic Intelligence from the Joint Military Intelligence College.
