Dr. Bunmi Biu is a Global HR and Organizational Development Consultant with extensive international experience from consulting, teaching, and practicing Strategic Human Resources in North America, Africa, Europe, and Asia. She is the Practice Lead of VR Consulting, a management consulting practice that designs, creates, and executes Strategic Human Resources and Organizational Development solutions.
Bunmi has significant experience consulting for and working with for-profit, non-profit and Multinational Organizations, Government, and NGOs. Her professional background has endowed her with unique deep expertise in aligning and integrating organization processes, roles, structures, and culture with the business vision and strategic agenda. Biu is known for collaborating with organizations to identify the critical gaps impeding strategy, processes, people, and organization arrangements from working in sync to ensure optimal business outcomes. She is a storyteller who employs data-informed insights to drive her work and develop evidence-based organizational solutions. Bunmi is passionate about positively impacting people and organizations, one interaction at a time.
Her consulting career started in the People and Change Management Competency Group at Accenture, where she progressively moved into Executive Leadership roles as the Head of Human Resources in financial services for-profit organizations. Bunmi consults on medium to large-size projects in Europe, North America, Asia, and Africa, where she has led transformation-type Human Resources and Organizational Development assignments. Organizations she has worked with as an HR and Training Consultant include the Lagos State Government, Nigeria, the Debt Management Office, Nigeria, and the National insurance Corporation Uganda, among others.
She collaborates with International Agencies such as Development Agency International (DAI) and Crown Agents UK to execute HR Consulting projects as well as design and deliver Executive and Management Training programs.
Bunmi was the Lead Consultant on the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management Commercial Bank of Ethiopia five - year HR Transformation project. She recently completed Organization Capability Assessments, Strategic Analysis and Business Modeling for ACSI Microfinance, the largest Microfinance Institution in Africa (by the size of outreach) as well as HR Organization and Employee Capability Assessments for the Development Bank of Ethiopia.
She taught Industrial Economics, Marketing, Strategic Human Resources Management, and Leadership programs as a resource person, and adjunct faculty at Warwick Business School, and Coventry University, UK as well as Pan Atlantic University, Lagos Business School), in Nigeria.
Dr Biu holds a First - Class Degree in Insurance from the University of Lagos, an MBA in Finance from Bayes Business School, City University London and a Doctorate in Industrial & Business Studies from the University of Warwick, Coventry. She is a certified Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute ACII (England) and a professional member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
