Wendy Zajack

With more than 20 years of experience in public relations, marketing, media relations and internal communications, Wendy Zajack thrives on working to make complex topics and technologies easy to understand, exciting and relevant to broad audiences.

She has spent a major portion of her career working for large, global organizations building messaging for multiple audiences and using a variety of marketing channels. She joined Georgetown this Fall as a faculty director and professor for the Integrated Marketing Communications program in the School of Continuing Studies. She hopes to bring her extensive experience into the classroom and explore new and innovative ways to market and communicate in an increasingly crowded business environments. Most recently she was the Senior Director of Communications and Programs for the Nokia portfolio and innovation team. While there she worked to develop thought-leadership for the company’s key technology areas including cloud, IoT, 5G and its innovation engine Bell Labs. Before the acquisition by Nokia, Wendy led a team of communications and industry analysts specialists that supported Alcatel-Lucent’s entire technology portfolio including the promotion of its key business lines including IP, wireless, fixed access, IP platforms and Bell Labs. Prior to this role Wendy held a variety of communications roles within Alcatel-Lucent including leading the efforts of its LGS government arm and within various product divisions of Lucent Technologies. She joined Lucent Technologies after serving in a media relations role for Reuters America where she was instrumental in the promotion of Reuters initial foray into a new online news model. Wendy holds a B.S in Public Relations from the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University and a Masters in Business Administration from the New York University Stern School of Business. She is an active blogger and Tweeter and enjoys speaking at industry conferences and universities about the power of communications.
