Online Master's in Integrated Marketing Communications

Georgetown’s Online Master of Professional Studies in Integrated Marketing Communications program immerses you at the intersection of strategy and creativity. You’ll study the full breadth of communications disciplines—including advertising, marketing communications strategy, direct marketing, social media, and word-of-mouth marketing—and learn how to synthesize them into cohesive brand experiences. Consumer behavior is changing, along with the technology and engagement channels that consumers utilize. Marketing and communication leaders must develop flexible, responsive plans to face change and promote creative problem solving within the industry.

Through hands-on, interactive exercises, you will develop the creativity and critical thinking skills necessary to lead high-performing teams, and measure, sustain, and defend brands in today’s extremely competitive environment. Using a consumer-centric approach, you will learn how to work with clients to develop content tailored to a specific target audience, and build a portfolio of content samples for web stories, social media, email newsletters, and other channels.

Led by a faculty of communications practitioners, scholars, and industry experts, students will participate in online class discussions, case studies, and research through real-world projects and internships. Your experiences will expand your knowledge of research approaches and techniques, and equip you with the necessary strategies that keep consumer interests and needs at the center of integrated campaigns.

Throughout your time in the master's program, you will evaluate numerous communications disciplines and consider each one’s unique challenges. Examining ethics through a professional lens, you will explore your own values and focus on the importance of humanity and intuition in a data-driven world.
